Very beautiful and moving
Meet the true symbol of modern America
When Covid-19 came about (we’ll discuss how that might have really happened some other time) it became clear to any of us with the consciousness of a turnip or better that there was a lot more going on than we were being told. Once the lockdowns came about, that became even more abundantly clear. Many used the debacle as an excuse to impose preferred policy positions. Green energy policies were one of many such beneficiaries. Then, there is the overall economic impact.
Many businesses are failing and many others, bigger business and corporations, are waiting in the wings, ready to swoop down and swallow them up. Mostly small or mid-sized businesses, which many Democrat and RINO politicians like to identify as “non-essential”- hair salons, bowling alleys, nightclubs, and many restaurants. Everybody has taken a hit, some more than others. It has eased up to some extent- after the Deep State and their media whores finally succeeded in getting rid of President Trump, another reason for this unmitigated scam.
Many targeted businesses held on tenaciously, probably due at least in part to the preeminence of Amazon. But many became the targets of hedge funds utilizing the short-selling of stocks. Which, without going into too much detail, works something like this-
A trader borrows stock from a trading company in the hope the stock loses value. When he pays the stock back to the company at the end of the agreed to period, he makes a profit. So if he borrowed the stock at twenty dollars per share and it drops to ten dollars, he makes a ten dollar per share profit. The company and it’s general clientele still make a profit since the stock is part of a fund that includes other, more profitable stocks. Plus, the failed company might now be purchased at fire-sale prices, possibly by the hedge fund or a client.
But, what if for some reason the stock retains it’s value? Well, then the short-seller simply gives back the stock with maybe a small commission. But if the stock happens to go up in value, say from twenty dollars to fifty, then he pays back the stock, plus the thirty dollar profit. In other words, he kind of fucked himself. Notice here how the hedge fund almost never loses.
Now, imagine a bunch of hedge funds working in conjunction, each one short-selling the same stocks, and you can see the potential for mischief. So much of this would cause such company stocks to collapse by default, of course. Well, some Redditors got together on the u/WallStreetBets subreddit and decided these businesses need an infusion of cash in order to survive. They were temporarily banned on Discord (and still on Reddit the last I heard) due to alleged “hate-speech” violations lol.
AMC Entertainment has been hard hit by the drop in movie attendance over the last year so they were an obvious hedge fund target but one of the biggest beneficiaries of the Reddit driven stock surge, despite (or maybe because) some have rumored they are owned and/or controlled by the Chinese government.
GameStop is a little harder to comprehend, since it doesn’t seem to me like they would be so dependent on the need for people to get out of their houses. If anything, you would think they might even tend to benefit from lock-downs. But whatever. Maybe the company hasn’t been run that well, which you should keep in mind going into this, if you do.
Robinhood Trading is an example of a trading company that has gotten too close to the vultures, who are crying foul. Robinhood is selling the stock to their customers, who are buying for the long-term. At least long enough to do significant damage to the short-sellers and the hedge funds. This left many of the short-sellers holding their dicks until a temporary, manipulated crash of the stock values probably enabled many of them to divest in the nick of time before the stock prices went back up. Still, hedge fund managers, their clients, various Wall Street regulators and many of their political cronies are up in arms. Some are even calling the Reddit traders “terrorists” and threatening legal sanctions. Yeah, where have we heard this before, right?
If you get close to a vulture, they throw up on you. And these buzzards are really stinking things up. If you do decide to get in the game, bear in mind that it might get even messier.
Delivery attempted January 26
Unfortunately, USPS ran into an issue when attempting your delivery. They will try again.
Isn’t this the bunch that used to brag about delivering the mail in all kind of adverse weather conditions? Now, a blocked driveway is going to make them put off delivering one book for at least one day. Yet, we are supposed to trust them to deliver tens of millions of mail-in votes during elections.
By the time it’s all over, they might end up sending me fifty of sixty books I never ordered.
People get the kind of government they deserve and it’s not necessarily the kind they want. Even when that happens, it’s probably pretty rare and never lasts very long. So what do we want most of all? Well, greedy assholes that we are, we want a great economy with upward mobility for all. We want a strong middle-class. We want wealth. We want extravagance. Oh yes, we do. We want our choice of ten different styles of Doritos or more.
We want to be entertained. Netflix. Disney+. We want our porn. We want our music and our idols. And we want to think they are just like us. Our politicians too. They aren’t, but they try to make us think they are. Most of them literally despise us. I wouldn’t blame them for that if they were any better but they are not. They are all, like most of us, pieces of shit. Only they are worse.
That’s exactly why our country has gone to hell. And we are dragging the world down with us. Not because there is anything wrong with having a great, growing economy and a strong middle class with riches and wealth. There is not. The problem comes about when those things become the priority. We become corrupt and demand our political leaders keep the good times rolling. Well, the fact that we think of these people as our “leaders” might well be the first problem, one they have been only too happy to encourage. They have built up this facade and have trashed the constitution beginning almost before the ink ever dried on the document.
Yes, many of our Founding Fathers were also assholes.
The irony? If we adhered to the Constitution and Bill of Rights, the economy would be fine. In the long run, it would even be generally better and in a much more consistent way. Additionally, no one’s legitimate rights would ever be limited, whether you be in the majority or the minority.
But it will never happen. To think it will is living in a fantasy land. That’s because we don’t have the guts to make it happen. By force. The only way it ever can happen. We would have to openly rebel. But we don’t have the appetite for that kind of destruction. For blood.
And that is really unfortunate.
No blogroll on this site, it looks like. If I had known that, I probably wouldn’t have started this blog. I didn’t plan on having a big long line of links in a blogroll that looked like it went on forever, followed by two or three others of similar length. Maybe somewhere between twenty and thirty blogs at the very most would have been sufficient.
I’ll still be adding links to some of my blog posts but it’s still aggravating. I’m sure the main reason is to prevent people from linking to sites the Tech Masters and Deep State (and their media whores} would prefer people not patronize, reading views and opinions they can’t tolerate. So, rather than risk exposing readers to ideas and viewpoints our “rulers” (and make no mistake, that’s how they see themselves} do not agree with, they are left with two options.
They can tranquilize us with respect for the First Amendment much the way people in zoos toss fruit to gorillas. They know most people simply regurgitate what they’ve been fed, then suck it right back down. But there is that minority of us who don’t always act in an appreciative manner. Those of us who see through the darkness and can smell the bullshit from a mile away.
Given the opportunity, some of us vent out anger and frustration at the most inopportune times. During elections, for example. If we are allowed to congregate and associate with each other, either publicly or on-line, we might become a rabble. An unruly mob.
“Your people, sir, is a great beast,”
That wasn’t Mark Zuckerberg talking to Donald Trump before the 2020 election. That was James Madison near the turn of the nineteenth century taking to Thomas Jefferson. The only difference between the two was where Madison saw us a a ferocious animal in need of restraint, Jefferson saw us a means to power. Make no mistake. Even the Founding Fathers intended to fuck us one way or another. If you could ask them why, they would probably have said it was for the children.
Most of us have learned since those days to stay in our cages if we know what’s good for us. And even that is not always enough.
The last Christmas, well it may have arguably been the strangest in the last 2026 years or so, certainly if you lived in Nashville. And of all the songs with which a mad bomber might regale his victims within the music capitol of America, why would he have chosen this one?
Doesn’t seem to be the perfect song with which to transition from 2020 to 2021, does it? Not without engaging in a lot of wishful thinking, or maybe just wishing on a Jupiter-Saturn conjunction.
